Jamba-Quest

E-mail Print PDF

Jamba-Quest has several options.  The defaults are safe and allow quest mirroring from master to slave without the worry of choosing wrong rewards.

Please note that you need to open the NPC dialogs on all your characters and then take action with your master character.  Your slave characters will mirror the masters actions.

The select option on the Jamba-Quest GUI will select the current quest on the slaves.  You can see this by opening the slaves quest log.  Please note that the selected quest in the top half of the quest log does not get updated to reflect the quest selected, even though the bottom half has the correct quest.  This is a minor issue and does not affect any functionality.

The defaults do not include the Slave Auto Accept Quest option (for good reason).  To automate this as much as possible, use your master to accept the quest and then share the quest with your slaves.  You should have a "big button" set up that you can use to accept the quest on the slaves.

Jamba-Quest-0.1-thumb

Mirror Master Quest Selection

Tick this box to have your slaves mirror the master quest selection.  This includes all the gossip options and your slaves navigate the quest npc menu system the same way you do on your master character.

Slave Auto Accept Quest

This option is off by default.  Tick this box to automatically accept quest when clicking on the quest giver npc on your slave character.  You will not see the quest text.  Be warned if you use this option that a slave may auto accept an escort quest before the other slaves are on the correct stage of the quest chain.

Slave Auto Accept Escort Quest

Tick this box to automatically accept escort quests on your slaves.

Please note that with escort quests, you need to start the quest with your master character only.  The slaves will automatically accept the quest.  Do NOT open the quest givers dialog window on the slaves and have them attempt to mirror the masters selection.

Mirror Master Decline Quest

Tick this box to have your slaves mirror the master declining a quest.  Used in conjunction with the quest selection mirroring.

Mirror Master Abandon Quest

Tick this box to have your slaves mirror the master abandoning a quest.  Used in conjunction with the quest selection mirroring.  (This option sends the name of the quest to the slave; so there is no need to worry about the slave accidentially abandoning the wrong quest.)

Mirror Master Complete Quest (No Reward Choice)

Tick this box to have your slaves mirror the master completing a quest.  Used in conjunction with the quest selection mirroring.  Your slaves will not complete a quest that has a reward choice associated with it (unless you select the next option).

Mirror Master Complete Quest (WITH Reward Choice)

This option is off by default.  Tick this box to have your slaves mirror the master completing a quest and choosing the same reward.  You should enable this option if you have a group of characters of the same class and you wish them all to receive the same reward as the master.

Slave Auto Complete Quest (No Reward Choice)

This option is off by default.  Tick this box to have your slaves automatically complete quests.  Used in conjunction with Slave Auto Accept Quest.  You will not see the quest text.  These two options are great if you don't care about reading quest text and just want to mash through quests as fast as possible.  You will still have to choose a reward for those quests that require it.

Mirror Master Quest Watch

Tick this box to have your slaves automatically add and remove quest watches as the master does.

Quest Silently

Your slaves will tell the master when they have completed a task (like, accepting or abandoning a quest).  Tick this box to mute them.

Jamba-Talk

E-mail Print PDF

Jamba-Talk has one major function.  To forward any whispers you slaves receive to your master.  As the master, replying to your slave will cause the slave to reply to the original whisperer.  Extra functionality includes target whispers and chat snippets.  For instance if I had a chat snippet called "mb" that described mutli-boxing; I could whisper Bob to tell him about multi-boxing from a slave by type "/w slave @bob !mb".

Jamba-Talk-Options-0.1-thumb

Options

Forward Whispers And Relay

Whisper forwarding will forward a whisper directed to a slave to the master.  Reply to the slave from the master and the slave will reply to the original whisper with the masters reply.

For commonly used replies, set up a chat snippet on the slave to save typing.  To send a chat snippet, use a ! followed by the name of the chat snippet.

To direct a whisper to another character from the slave, begin the whisper to the slave with @ followed by the name of the character.

Request Who Information

Request /who information from server about character that whispered.  To view on master, enable forwarding of system messages.

With this option and the forwarding system messages option, the master receives /who information about the whisperer and a clickable link to the orginal whisperer.

Forward System Messages

Forwarding system messages will forward all system messages (yellow text) to the master.  You can filter out some of these messages so only relevant messages are sent to the master.

Filter System Messages

Filter out system messages (like LeetNelf has defeated LameBelf in a duel).  Yay Alliance! Tongue out

Jamba-Talk-SysMsg-0.1-thumb

Filtering System Messages

This tab contains a list of partial system messages.  Each system message that Jamba-Talk receives is checked to see if part of the message is contained in one of the items in this list.  If there is a match, the system message is not forwarded on to the master.

To Add a Partial Message

Click the Add button and type the partial system message into the box that pops up.  Click the Accept button.

To Remove Partial Message(s)

Select the message(s) you wish to remove by ticking their boxes.  Click the remove button.  Click Accept on the confirmaton dialog that appears.

Chat Snippets

Jamba-Talk-Snippets-0.1-thumb

This tab contains a list of chat snippets.

To Add a Chat Snippet

Click the Add button and type the [name]=[snippet text] into the box that pops up.  Click the Accept button.  [name] is the name of the chat snippet that you type after the ! on the whisper.  [snippet text] is the text that the receipent receives.

To Remove Chat Snippet(s)

Select the message(s) you wish to remove by ticking their boxes.  Click the remove button.  Click Accept on the confirmaton dialog that appears.

The What and Why of Jamba-Target.

What is Jamba-Target?

Jamba-Target is a system that allows you build a pre-defined kill sequence for your slave characters.  You can define up to 8 mobs to target.  You mark individual mobs using the raid icon system.  Pressing a key assigned to a raid icon causes all your slave characters to target the mob marked with the raid icon*.  Now you can leave your slave characters to concentrate on that mob, while your tank is busy tanking other mobs.

* Mobs with the same name cannot be uniquely targeted.  When a mob has been marked and there are other mobs in the area with the same name, your slave characters will target the nearest mob with that name, not necessarily the mob that was marked.

Why use Jamba-Target?

Instances

Jamba-Target is useful in instances when you have pulls of multiple mobs.  Marking each mob with a raid icon and then using the keys assigned to the raid icons to target these mobs means that your tank is free to tank, taunt and otherwise be useful rather than being a "brain" for the slave characters.  You slave characters attack targets in the order you specify (you have to press the target key for each target in order for your slave characters to switch targets).

Crowd Control

Jamba-Target allows you to modify the macro assigned to each raid icon.  You can modify the moon raid icon target to cast a polymorph on the target.

How to use Jamba-Target.

Bind keys to Jamba-Target functions.

Bring up the World of Warcraft main menu.  Choose Key Bindings.  On the key binding form that appears, scroll down the form until you reach the section labelled Jamba Target.

jamba-target-keybindings-0.4-thumb

There are 10 keys that may be bound here.  They are:

  • Mark Targets (Press & Hold)
  • Clear Target
  • Target 1 (Star)
  • Target 2 (Circle)
  • Target 3 (Diamond)
  • Target 4 (Triangle)
  • Target 5 (Moon)
  • Target 6 (Square)
  • Target 7 (Cross)
  • Target 8 (Skull)

Choose 10 suitable keys and bind these keys to the above functions.  In this document, Target 1 has been bound to Numpad 1, Target 2 to Numpad 2, etc.  Clear Target has been bound to Numpad 0 and Mark Targets (Press & Hold) has been bound to the Period key (fullstop).

Make sure you bind the exact same keys for these key bindings on ALL your characters.

Please note that Mark Targets (Press & Hold) is a key that needs to be held down.  Some key cloning / hot key programs require that this functionality be explictly setup.  For instance in HotKeyNet, you must specify this key as a "movement key".

Marking a target.

Key: Mark Targets (Press & Hold)

By default this key only works on the master character.

Make sure you are controlling your master character.

You must target a mob before pressing and holding this key down.  When you press the key down, a circle of raid icons appear near the mouse cursor.  Click (left mouse button) one of these raid icons and you assign that raid icon to your targeted mob.

Jamba-Target pops up a small window that displays this the raid icon you selected, the mobs name and the mobs health.

Now if you target a different mob, press and hold the Mark Targets (Press & Hold) key, choose a different raid icon from the circle of raid icons that popup, you will see that Jamba-Target has added your second target to the target list.

Marking of targets cannot be done in combat.

Targeting the target.

Keys: Target 1 - 8

To target a target in the Jamba-Target target list; press the key that is associated with the raid icon the target is marked with.  All your slave characters will now target that target.  Likewise press another key for a different raid icon and your slave characters will target the target assigned to that raid icon.

You can change targets in combat by pressing the appropriate target keys.

Target health.

As your characters damage a marked target, the target's health is updated on the target list display.  When the target dies, the target is removed from the target list.

jamba-target-listinaction-0.4-thumb

Removing a target from the list.

If you mark a target and fail to kill the target or target the wrong mob, you can remove the target from the list, by selecting any target, pressing and holding the Mark Target (Press & Hold) key, and right-clicking on the raid icon already assigned to the wrong target.

Clearing characters existing targets.

Sometimes your slave characters will target a mob you did not want them to target.  Pressing the Clear Target key will clear each slave characters target.

Advanced Jamba-Target Usage

Holding a target.

By default Jamba-Target will monitor a mobs health and remove the mob from the list when the mob dies.  There is an option to "hold" a particular target mob's name rather than the actual mob.  When a target is held, Jamba-Target does not track the mobs health, but instead leaves the target name intact.

This allows you to preset the name of a mob to target and have the ability to target that mob for the duration of your session.  This is useful for crowd control where all through an instance you may have a particular mob that you wish to sheep.  Rather than marking each individual mob, you can just mark the first mob you encounter.

In the Jamba-Target options, under the List tab, there is a list of raid icons.  Check the box for raid icon you wish to hold.  For example, to hold the moon raid icon, you would check the box Hold 5 (moon).

jamba-target-list-0.4-thumb

Controlling which characters get target updates.

By default the target commands are sent to all characters that have the "all" tag.  You can control which characters get send each target command (target 1-8) by changing the tag associated with each target.

For instance, you may wish the moon raid icon (Target 5) to only be actioned by your mage.  Assign your mage the tag "mage".  In the Jamba-Target options, under the Tags tab, change the tag for Target 5 (Moon) from "all" to "mage".  Now when pressing the key assigned to Target 5 (Moon), only the mage will get the command to target the mob.

jamba-target-tags-0.4-thumb

Changing the target macro.  Sheep!

Obviously having a mage just target the mob is all very well and good, but how about having the mage actually sheep the mob instead.  You can modify the macro assigned to each target to do this.

By default all the macros for each target are:

/targetexact #MOB#

This macro can be modified to sheep the target and then have the mage target its last target:

/targetexact #MOB#
/cast Polymorph
/targetlasttarget

To modify a macro for a target; navigate to the Macros tab in the Jamba-Target options.  Select the target to edit the macro for from the drop down list.  The macro text for this target appears in the edit box.  Edit the macro as you wish.  Please note that you use the #MOB# text in place of the mob name.  Jamba-Target will replace #MOB# with the name of the actual mob when you target a mob.  Make sure you click Accept when you have finished modifying the macro.

Jamba-Taxi

E-mail Print PDF

Jamba-Taxi has one function; to allow slave characters to take the same flight as the master character.

Please note that you need to open the flight master taxi window open on all your characters, then you can take action with your master character.  Your slave characters will mirror the masters actions.

Jamba-Taxi-0.1-thumb

Take Master's Taxi

Tick this box for this slave character to take the same flight as the master character.  This option needs to be selected on all slaves and the master.

To take a master's taxi, open up the taxi window from the flight master npc on all the slave characters.  Then on the master character, open the taxi window from the flight master npc and select a flight destination.  The master and all the slaves will now fly to the destination the master selected.

Note: Flight paths are selected by destination name so there is no chance that slaves will fly somewhere they should not.
